Brian Jonestown Massacre set to tour again and reveals new material

It’s rather rare that artists hitting my musical preferences turn up around here. That´s why I became so excited  when I discovered that one of my all time favorites, Brian Jonestown Massacre,  were announced to turn up for a gig in a Club called Voxhall in the nearest city, Aarhus, on 22nd June. This will be a unique opportunity to experience this peculiar band, which has been around since they set up in San Francisco in the early nineties. Although there has been a big shift concerning the group-members, Anton Newcombe is still the dynamo of the current line-up.

This is the finest, dignified rock also referring to a spectrum of different musical directions such as shoegaze, garage rock, psychedelic rock and even featuring some late 60s rock-influences like the Velvet Underground. Like most other  bands, their live-sound is said to be considerably more massive than their recordings – sometimes as much as 4-5 guitarist on stage. Well – I’ll judge for myself and until they turn up I’m not only going to enjoy their impressive back-catalogue but also their upcoming  13th album-release,  “Aufheben” scheduled for  the 1st May. Album review coming up here soon.
